Producer - Podcast Docuseries

A documentary film-making company is looking for an associate producer to work with a talented audio team to make 12 episodes for an anthology podcast in the crime space.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with the production team to create exciting and compelling long-form podcast episodes. The role will take ownership of episode production to develop strong story arcs, crafting a dynamic narrative for each episode.

• Works with researcher and senior producer to identity interview subjects, archival tape, location recording
• Crafting interview questions, writing VO script and prepare hosts for interviews
• Produce remote interviews and sometimes in-studio sessions or field recordings
• Produce string-outs for episode story arcs using Descript
• Work with our Sound Designer to shape the sound and feel of the episode
• Assist in all aspects of show production as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in fast-paced, idea-driven media environments (podcast, radio, television, or related)
• Excellent interview skills, especially developing trust with guests who are often skeptical of journalists
• Experience in ProTools, Audition, or comparable DAWs, with familiarity scoring music and use of archival material
• Strong broadcast writing and editing skills, showing originality and humor
• Enthusiasm for working with talent, especially non-radio talent
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
